Arranged in two groups: I. Promptbooks (5 in 10 vols.). II. Dialogue parts (63). Title and authorship attributed on authority of Bloom, American song, vol. 1. All items are typescript, in English. Promptbooks are made up of multiple volumes, each bearing the title of one section of the show: Act I is entitled "The darling of the gallery gods"; Act II "Lifting the cup"; and "a part of the show" is entitled "The dress parade." The book of Act II, of which there is only one copy, gives credit for lyrics to Hobart and J.H. Biddle (i.e., Nicholas Biddle). All promptbooks but one are incomplete, and performers' names appear handwritten in preliminaries. The dialogue parts consist of three sets of 20 bearing the title "The dress parade," and three parts the title "The darling of the gallery gods."
